23 I: Charlotte Roueché (King’s College London), Circus Factions beyond Constantinople. Texts and Contexts
Abstract
Inscriptions referring to the circus factions – most often in the form of acclamations – have been found at many locations in the eastern empire; the most useful recent account is by Adam Łajtar, and Jolanta Młynarczyk (Études et Travaux, 2017). I propose to pull this material together, and consider how we should understand these various texts, and their significance, as well as engaging with the question of how best to publish them.
